Good essay, Lev! I had a similar intuition about not stepping into a hotel elevator once. But I did not listen to my intuition. The cord from the staff member's vacuum got caught and stalled the elevator for an hour. In your biographical statement, don't you mean "published author"? Best wishes! Janet
Yes, I understand that it was your mother's warning, but it could also have been your own intuition speaking in her voice. I think that people underestimate the insights of our intuition. Best wishes! Janet
It wasn't my intuition, it was definitely her, just as it was her calling me right after she died, as I've described in the "Ghost Call" essay I linked. My intuitions have never been in her voice.
One can always say no, but If I hadn't launched my own book tour in the U.S. in the early 90s, I wouldn't have had the same career. And I had two very successful and remunerative book tours after this in Germany.
To me, it didn't feel connected to intuition. It felt completely different. And it was too loud. My intuitions, if that's a noun, are more like whispers.
“Vile chemical miasma”— good phrase!
Thanks!
I love that you honor her this way on her birthday. She gave you the gift of life, and she wants you to listen !
Yes, indeed!

I fixed it earlier today but forgot to click "update now" in editing mode.
It wasn't an intuition, btw, it was my mom, who had already come to me when she was dead: https://writewithoutborders.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Ghost-Call.pdf

Becoming homework! Goals.
LOL
Ugh Lev. Travel. Can an author get out of that part?

I agree, but this was not intuition. This was my mother.
