I'm so glad you've done this. I read this article too and wrote to them (not publicly as you've done) to draw to their attention to this and got no response. I also engaged with one of the people who occasionally writes about 'the Jewish question' as well as using racist language about Black and other ethnic minorities. I was very polite, and in fact his replies were equally polite, but he was tenacious in his indefensible views. I raised the issue in Notes and got zero reaction. Maybe because you have a higher profile you will be better placed to challenge this abhorrent minority but given the lack of interest in the issue so far, I'm not hopeful
I contacted them a while ago about someone posting antisemitic trash on one of my substacks. The response was they were taking action but couldn't tell me what, for privacy concerns. The person who sent it is still on Substack with hate and conspiracy crap.
You mean X-formerly-known-as-Twitter. As an aside, what is the point of changing a name if everyone has to qualify it with its previous name? For another day!

Unacceptable. I wonder what Bari Weiss thinks of Substack’s freedom-of-speech ethos now in light of this? Perhaps she could comment.
That's a good question. I just sent her query, asking if she'd seen it and I cut and pasted the letter.
Yes, I was glad to see a group calling out this kind of posting. We have to reject it to keep it from spreading, and, I hope, open the minds of some.
Not surprised.
And to think people left Twitter thinking Substack was more sane...
I don't get it. What's with the plethora of Nazis in America? It's disgusting.
Thank you for this stand and this statement; I had no idea. I hope other prominent authors, like the brilliant Garth Greenwell, will take this up.

Good point. Everyone has to refer to its old name. I sometime go with X/Twitter because it's a pun. :-)
