I get a good number of similar emails from "authors" wanting to connect. My favorite was the one from Robert B. Parker.

Is that Robert from America? :-)

One way to say that in Swedish is "hu!" :-)

I think my Swedish would be better if I hadn't recently started Norwegian which has similarities but lots and lots of differences, especially in pronunciation.

I speak a little Norwegian. Norwegian and Danish are so close, I can understand both. Swedish is harder for me.

I decided to take a language class during my senior year in high school. It was Spanish. I utterly failed the class because the Spanish teacher also spoke Norwegian. He always spoke Norwegian right before, to me, and then I couldn't get into Spanish mode. True sabotage!

Wow. In JHS and HS I had an Alsation French teacher whose accent was so strong if you sat at the back of the class you didn't know which language he was speaking. Re/Nordic languages: Swedish is so musical and fits me best. But I will watch almost any series or movies set in those countries just to bathe in the sound.
