What Are You Reading This Month?
(Or re-reading....)
I’m currently dipping in and out of a mix of history, biography, and I guess cultural commentary/analysis would describe bell hooks’ book.
Silent Night—Stanley Weintraub*
Five of Hearts—Patricia O’Toole
Pearl Harbor—Steven Gillon*
All About Love—bell hooks
Home: A Short History of an Idea—Witold Rybczynski*
The Bully Pulpit—Doris Kearns Goodwin
*I’ve read these before

Just about finished the short novel "Point Break" by Don DeLillo. Next up looking like novels "The Warehouse" by Rob Hart and "Big Swiss" by Jen Beagin. But these things flow and shift....
Currently reading: The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin. Knife by Salman Rushdie. The Secret Lives of Colour by Kassia St. Clair. I've also been reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer aloud, because coworkers told me my voice is annoying, so I'm practicing a lower pitch and volume. Recently finished Carl Jung's Synchronicity (eh), Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses (ah), Firstborn by Lauren Christensen (oh...), and The Rabbit Hutch by Tess Gunty (a new favorite). Playground by Richard Powers is probably next on the list, or maybe Sometimes A Great Notion by Ken Kesey. Will probably pick up more Rushdie books too, I read East, West earlier last year and his voice resonates.
