Lev, this is an important issue for social media these days. I think that those who supervise social media need to take a stand against any type of racism, bigotry, antisemitism, misogyny, discrimination against LGBTQI people, hostility toward differently abled people, etc. Best wishes for 2024!

Great! I hate it when people quit platforms for political reasons. I'm a ride or die guy.

I'm not trying to make anyone leave. I'm staying too.

But it's not a dead horse, it's as the title of the column says a news update: Substack's owners responding to the recent press stories and letters from substackers.

I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. Besides my regular essay Substack and my political Substack (which will be deleted), I have to consider my author newsletter. I think I'm going to Mailerlite and then back to the routine of drafting on the WordPress blog (yuck) then copying to Dreamwidth and then maybe Substack for those subscribers. But otherwise my links will be to the WordPress. It'll be a pain but that's how things go, alas.

I've only been here for about a year and it's a brand new audience I don't intend to leave.

Over two years for me. The fiction has been disappointing but the essays...well, I've been growing an audience.

For me, this is a fun ancillary to publishing out in the world. I just had another essay accepted by Paranormal Magazine and it'll make my 65th new essay publication since August 2021 when I dropped work on a novel to write CNF.
